Ah.. let's just say it's good to be back! It's December and Christmas awaits! woots. Love the December mood. What happened in Thailand.. good or bad (mostly bad).. stays in Thailand. Despite all the stupid stuffs we've been thru.. the witnessing of class 1 idiots as our commanders.. at least we're all back after 2 weeks, completed our final hurdle and awaiting ORD.
Apart from the training, life there was rather fun. It's interesting being cut off from technology for a while.. witness the "kampung" kind of lifestyle the locals have. Carefree, oblivious to what's happening in the world.
Bah. Too much to elaborate. I wouldn't have survived there anyway as I'm aware of better things out there like my computer games.. air conditioners... prettier Singaporean girls. heh.
I wonder how life in camp will be now that we are considered the 'lao jiaos'.. a.k.a. next batch to ORD. I hope it'll be more slack. heh. Less duties too if possible..at least not on Christmas and New Yr .. not their eves too! Gonna stay in camp for another 1 and a half weeks tho.. and it's a holiday to Australia for a week!
Alright. I guess i'll be off to Thailand for 2 weeks in a couple of hours time. I guess this should be my last hurdle to ORD. Yet, a tough one.. not really physically tho.. What concerns me is probably the journey to and fro.. the fact that my area of Ops isn't far from where the avian flu was reported.. not to mention cases of soil diseases from the previous batch and such.
Mixed feelings about this trip. I've been trying to convince myself that it's just 2 weeks long and that it'll be over in no time. Moreover, my holiday to Melbourne and Christmas (41 days!) will be the things awaiting me when I return! Kinda excited when I think of these.. but that pessismistic fella inside me is making me worry.
CHIONG SUA TIME AH!
Be back in two weeks. :)
..happy 20th birthday! haha
Last week was hella crazy. Apart from being long, it had to end with MSD during a spot check on our unit and who else but us (security department) had 2 cupboards left unsecured. Wow whee. Thus the Staff erupted and we know we could all look towards a gloomy week after the long weekend. =
Got arrowed to drive the CO off during his change of command parade. I must have looked like a fool driving that jeep. Stress man! 1 wrong move, hit brakes too hard etc, and you'll see a 2-crab being flung over. Kinda interesting, probably once in a lifetime I'll get to drive a VIP during a parade. Perhaps next time I'll be driven. :D
Oktoberfest on Saturday was nice ($49 per pax @ Orchard Hotel) Not only did the variety of european food appealed to me, the beer was great too! lol, what more to expect from an event that originated as a german beer drinking session. But man were the roast beef, sausages, pork knuckles and even cakes delicious! At least 5 times better than those sold in Marche. Not suprising tho, the quality @ Marche dropped quite a bit over the years.
What's interesting during that Oktoberfest are the beer ladies too. hurhur. Local girls.. dressed in European dresses... look a little like the ushers in Tokyo Disneyland. Anyway, they're rather pretty and did get me buying some beer. Would have gone up to participate in the Beer drinking competition if I hadnt had too much earlier. Then again, I wouldn't have won.. 5 pints was enough to get me tipsy and send me home.... just to play World of Warcraft for a bit. lol
Lotsa stuffs happened during this 4 day-long weekend. Including a cycling trip with Jit (Blasted Yh had to pangseh) to Sentosa. Woot. Seemed much further than expected. Always thought that once we've hit the CBD area, it wouldn't be too far. Little did we know that we still have to travel the whole stretch of the Port..down Tanjong Pagar until we finally reached Harbourfront. I wouldn't say it was worth the effort traveling there to see the girls.. as those we always past by at East Coast already appeal to me. :D Was fun tho.. and fking tiring. I've thighs almost twice as huge as my calves already.. how disgusting!
Then there was a supper potluck at Yx house on Monday night.. lotsa food... lotsa money spent too. Paid $20 to provide the Ice cream. bah. Least it was nice. The potluck would've been more fun if Jit didn't KO right after eating, and most of us being rather tired due to too much World-of-wacraft-ing. Might just try it again.. just gotta invite some girls along. ^_^
Back to camp now. Should have been booking out tomorrow night as Thurs is a public holiday.. but no, m-fing-s.o.b. CSM decides to come back and plan the fking duty and allocated GUARD duty to my dept AGAIN despite us doing last month. So here we are, in the very month where we're flying off to Thailand, doing not only our COS duties but also GUARD duty on Hari Raya. Ironically, it's the 2nd time in a row I'm doing Guard duty on this public holiday. Maybe it's some kinda payback for disliking malays? -shrug- Oh well, catch me at the gates of Jurong camp on Thurs. =\ This better not happen on Christmas or someone's gonna get hurt.
